Remember the picture from the bathroom in the French restaurant?
I have to admit I fell in love with the little guy. You see, I have a bit of a problem when it comes to roosters……I can’t stop buying them! And, if you haven’t noticed, they are EVERYWHERE! That makes it doubly hard for someone with a rooster fetish.
Here are a few of my rooster friends:
The bowl beside it has roosters on it as well.
Found those in an antique store in Marietta!
How many roosters do you count in the picture?
A summary of symbol meanings for the Rooster include:
- Pride
- Honesty
- Courage
- Vigilance
- Arrogance
- Strength
- Watchfulness
- Flamboyance
The ancient Greeks believed the Rooster rose to attention and saluted the sun every morning with a hearty cry, symbolizing victory over night.
The Rooster is a Chinese symbol of honesty, as well as physical and moral fortitude.
Roosters are considered sacred symbols in Japan, and are permitted to run free amongst the Shinto Temples.
In dreams, the Rooster is considered a time-keeper and is a sign of time passing in our lives. Hearing a Rooster’s voice in our dreams may indicate we need a wake-up call, and need to pay attention to some circumstances in our lives. Seeing a brilliantly plumed Rooster in our dreams indicates it is time to let others discover our true selves, and strut our stuff to others.
I guess I do have something to crow about!
Roosters everywhere you see!
That made me think a bit about me.
If I took off my hat and had no shoe,
I’d look a little like a rooster too!
I love Sam I Am’s poetry….Cockadoodle doo!!
I can do lots of rooster shopping in FL! As much as my cruck can hold!
