Presidential Potpourri For Ten

Washington’s Birthday is a United States federal holiday celebrated on the third Monday of February in honor of George Washington, the first President of the United States. It is also commonly known as President’s Day. As Washington’s Birthday or President’s Day, it is also the official name of a concurrent state holiday celebrated on the same day in a number of states. To celebrate Washington’s Birthday/President’s Day, I thought it would be fun to look back at some Presidential Quotes and see if you can guess who said them.  I will post the answers on tomorrow’s blog.

Okay, here we go!

“A lot of presidential memoirs, they say, are dull and self-serving. I hope mine is interesting and self-serving.”

“A friend is one who has the same enemies as you have.”

“Forgive your enemies, but never forget their names.”

“Before I refuse to take your questions, I have an opening statement.”

“What Washington needs is adult supervision.”

“Be polite to all, but intimate with few.”

“The finest steel has to go through the hottest fire.”

“Be sincere, be brief, be seated.”

“If you can’t stand the heat, get out of the kitchen.”

“You teach a child to read, and he or her will be able to pass a literacy test.” (Sorry folks, I couldn’t resist that one)

Happy President’s Day to all!
