Blowing in the Wind

A great wind is blowing, and that gives you either imagination or a headache.
~Catherine the Great

That seemed like an apt quote for day two in Kansas City.  The work this week does require a lot of imagination and the headache part is a no-brainer…… just try to get 15 states to reach a consensus.

And I wasn’t kidding about the wind either.  I kept expecting to see Dorothy and Toto flying by.

I made the mistake of going outside at lunch.

This wasn’t quite the face lift I had been dreaming about.

So, after work a group of us went down the road to a nice shopping/dining venue.

My Witchy Witch

It is called the Zona Rosa.  We ate at a nice restaurant called the 54th Street Bar and Grill and then did a little shopping (of course).  It was a bit tricky, but we got her done.

Nothing comes between me and my shopping!

Pier Pressure

I have a problem.  Actually I have lots of problems, but the one I want to talk about today is my problem with Pier One Imports.  No, it didn’t do anything to make me mad.  The problem is, I am obsessed with Pier One!

I did a cursory walk through of my house and counted over 100 items I have purchased at Pier One….and that is counting a complete dish set as one item.  I have dishes and chairs and pictures and clocks and placemats and…..the list goes on.  I used to have a little Bistro Table and chairs, but I lost that in my last divorce.  I tried to keep it in return for half my retirement and two of the dogs, but my ex and his attorney wouldn’t budge.

I really miss that table.

I use every excuse in the book to go to Pier One.

  • My credit card is paid off
  • My credit card is ALMOST paid off
  • My horoscope said that Jupiter is aligning with Mars

And speaking of Pier One credit cards……I am a “Preferred Customer” so the first Tuesday of every month I get 20% off.  (Guess what this Tuesday is?)  In addition, when I spend so much money, I get a rewards certificate in the mail worth $20.  I got two of them yesterday…..not sure how that happened, but I’ll take them.

I think my obsession with Pier One stems from the fact that I am quite eclectic and somewhat fru fru.  This store was made for me.

Did I mention I still miss that table.
